SHAPES AND GRAPHICS

Shapes and graphics – icons, lines, and visual elements on the canvas

Add shapes, lines, arrows, icons, stickers, and uploaded graphics directly onto the canvas. Every element behaves like a fully editable layer you can move, resize, rotate, group, and style for precise layouts and visual highlights.

Shapes and graphics in Polotno Studio let users add visual elements such as basic shapes, icons, arrows, and stickers directly onto the canvas. Every element behaves as a standard editable layer, updating instantly in the browser and remaining fully adjustable throughout the design process. All of this runs inside Polotno Studio, a free image and video editing platform that does not ask you to register before designing.

Basic shapes

Polotno Studio includes built-in shapes like rectangles, circles, triangles, and other simple geometric elements. Users can place shapes on the canvas and adjust fill color, border color, border width, opacity, and corner radius when available. Shapes can be moved, resized, rotated, duplicated, grouped, and arranged within the layer stack.

Lines and arrows

Users can insert straight lines and arrow elements for callouts, diagrams, highlights, and structural layout work. Line thickness, color, and orientation are fully adjustable. Arrows can be rotated and scaled freely and behave like any other canvas layer with access to snapping and alignment tools.

Icons and stickers

Polotno Studio provides a collection of icons and decorative stickers that can be added to a design with one click. Icons remain sharp at any size, and stickers behave like image layers that can be transformed, recolored when supported, and combined with text or other graphics. These assets help quickly build visual detail without external uploads.

Using uploaded graphics

Users can upload their own graphics or logos as standard image layers. These uploads can be resized, masked, grouped, and positioned the same way as built-in shapes and icons. Uploaded graphics fill the gap where built-in assets aren't enough and allow any external artwork to be integrated into the layout.

Styling and transformation

All shape and graphic elements support resizing, rotation, flipping, color changes where applicable, opacity adjustments, grouping, alignment, and snapping. This flexibility allows users to construct layouts, highlight content, or add decorative elements with precise control over positioning and appearance.

Export consistency

Every shape, icon, sticker, and uploaded graphic exports exactly as displayed on the canvas. Vector-based elements stay crisp in formats that support vectors, while raster and video formats preserve their visual appearance accurately. All transformations, styles, and layer arrangements remain intact in the final output.
