Polotno Studio pairs a full canvas editor with a render API, so your team designs visually and your systems generate images, videos, GIFs, and carousels on autopilot.

The visual content engine for automation
Most image APIs are headless: you wire up templates in code and design somewhere else. Polotno flips that. The canvas is the product. Design templates the way you'd design anything, mark the parts that should change, flip on automation, and call the API.
What you can generate
| Operation | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Image | On-brand PNG/JPG at any size: social posts, ads, OG images, thumbnails |
| Hi-res image | Print-ready and large-format renders (>3000²) |
| GIF | Animated graphics from your canvas designs |
| Video | Programmatic video from templated scenes |
| Image carousel | Multi-slide image sets in a single call |
| Video carousel | Sequenced video sets for stories and reels |
Every output starts from a template you designed in the studio. No design skills required from the systems calling the API.
How it works
1
Design your template
Build it in the full Polotno canvas editor: text, images, brand colors, fonts, layouts.
2
Name your dynamic layers
Use the {} convention. A text layer named {headline} or an image layer named {product_photo} automatically becomes an API field.
3
Call the API or fire an automation
Pass your values with your scoped API key and get back a rendered image, video, GIF, or carousel.
4
Receive a render webhook
We POST the signed output URL to your endpoint with an HMAC signature and automatic retries.
Connect it to everything
No-code or full-code. Your choice. Dynamic {} fields mean no extra setup: any layer you name with curly braces is exposed automatically to Zapier, n8n, Make, and the API.
Built for the work you actually do
Storage that works like a studio, not a pipe
Because the canvas is the product, your work lives here. It's not something you import and throw away.
Simple, credit-based pricing
One credit pool, weighted per operation. Top-up packs carry over for 12 months. A standard image is 1 credit, a hi-res image (>3000²) or PDF page is 3, and video is 1 credit per second plus overlay frames. The free plan needs no credit card.
